What I repair
SALT is intentionally a little broad. If it plugs in, doesn’t make heat, and you’d rather fix it than toss it, send a photo and some information. We’ll see whether it belongs in the “Things” department.
Hobart mixers
Classic, tough machines that are often very much worth keeping in service.
KitchenAid mixers
Mechanical and electrical repair, troubleshooting and common wear-item work.
Vitamix blenders
Diagnosis and repair when practical, with repair options explained before work begins.
Lamps & antique lamps
Rewiring, rebuilding, new sockets and switches, shade-related work and LED conversion.
Power cords
Replacement cords on many non-heating appliances, tools and other suitable equipment.

Have something odd? Text a photo. The worst answer you’ll get is a friendly “probably not that one.”
One important boundary: no heat-producing appliances.
Repair instead of replace.
A perfectly good machine shouldn’t become trash because one switch, cord, gear, bearing or other serviceable part gave up first.
Better for the stuff. Better for the planet.

If a repair doesn’t make financial sense, I’ll tell you. The goal isn’t to repair everything at any cost—it’s to keep the things worth keeping.
Simple drop-off. No mystery.
Drop-off Saturdays
Drop-off is available twice per month on Saturday. Exact upcoming dates are provided when you inquire.
Pickup may be available in some situations for a small additional fee.
Drop-off / diagnostic fee
The $25 fee covers drop-off and diagnosis. You’ll get an assessment and repair options before additional work is done.
